Michael Ellison expects a response from Lower Breck after Runcorn Linnets leapfrogged them to go top of the Northern Premier League West.

Former Lower Breck winger and title-winner with Ellison’s Widnes, Harry McGee, scored a dramatic winner against Chasetown in midweek.

The deflected effort extended Linnets’ unbeaten run and earned them a place at the top of the table.

During their run, they came from behind to beat Lower Breck 4-2 and compounded the difficult run for their Merseyside rivals, who have since lost again to make it three on the bounce, relinquishing top spot.
