Neil Danns makes relegation six-pointer claim as Southport close to ‘turning corner’
Southport are unbeaten in three matches as Neil Danns looks to make it two wins in two against fellow strugglers Peterborough Sports.
Southport manager Neil Danns believes they are close to turning a corner as he talked up the importance of this weekend’s showdown with Peterborough Sports.
The Sandgrounders are buoyant after their progression in the FA Cup, having overcome Radcliffe in their replay.
Their 3-2 win over Boro, thanks to goals from Mo Touray, Arthur Gnahoua and Luke Burgess, extended their unbeaten run to three matches.
However, they return to league action on Saturday as 23rd hosts 24th, when Peterborough Sports visit.
Phil Brown, who was named as the new manager last week, got off to a winning start with a triumph over Hornchurch.
The former Hull City boss will be hoping to continue their strong start and get one over on the Sandgrounders, who denied his Kidderminster Harriers side promotion on the final day of last season.
Danns believes a corner is close to being turned and while the signs are positive, they aren’t getting ahead of themselves.
