Joe Burns lays down Maghull targets ahead of North West Counties campaign
Maghull are longer in the tooth this year and are looking to improve upon their 10th-place finish.
Joe Burns wants Maghull to push for the playoffs after their return to the North West Counties but says they’re under no additional pressure.
It was a promising display during a historic year for the football club as they returned to step six for the first time in 25 years.
They made an impressive comeback to manage a mid-table finish after competing around the playoff positions until fading in the latter stages.
It’s back-to-back home matches to kick off the campaign for the Mags, including the visit from the relegated Squires Gate and Droylsden - who finished third in the table last year missing out on promotion via the playoffs.
Maghull have been busy, tying down their squad to new contracts as they look to push on this term.
Following the learning curve that last season posed, Burns is hopeful they can push on.
