'I don't see why we can't' - Karl Clair lifts lid on City of Liverpool aspirations
City of Liverpool will be looking to put aside their off-pitch uncertainty and push back up the football pyramid under Karl Clair.
City of Liverpool manager Karl Clair believes they are looking good going into the upcoming campaign.
The Purps are back in the North West Counties Premier Division following their torrid season in the Northern Premier League West.
There has been uncertainty on and off the pitch with squad issues towards the end of the last campaign, as well as a push from Purps4Change for a change of ownership.
Clair is looking to stabilise the club and push on to kickstart his own managerial career, alongside assistant manager Harrison Coady.
City of Liverpool's squad has had to be rebuilt with the exodus of players in light of their relegation.
But with the fixtures out, the new season is approaching and they face back-to-back away games against Glossop North End before the short trip to Litherland REMYCA.
Clair has been able to tap into contacts at the likes of Steven Gerrard’s Academy and the Robbie Fowler Academy to offer opportunities to some of their talented players, while counting on favours from some of his former teammates.
