Calum McIntyre reveals Chester transfer plan as National League North focus outlined
Chester are being widely considered as challengers for promotion and Calum McIntyre is eyeing living up to expectations.
Chester boss Calum McIntyre says they will not be rushed into signings as the season edges closer, but insists they’re eyeing at least two new additions.
The Blues manager also pinpointed their intent to challenge at the top end of the table, channelling their playoff final disappointment to spur them towards the National League North summit.
Chester have been busy this summer as they looked to dust themselves down from the extra-time defeat to Scunthorpe United in May.
While there were question marks over the future of academy graduate, Harrison Burke, they retained nine of the starting 11 while making Tom Leak’s move permanent following his release from Boston United.
Burke made his deserved move into the Football League and the club ticked off their targets list, acquiring Dion Kelly-Evans at right-back, James Jones in defence, Fin Shrimpton in midfield and Offrande Zanzala up front.
